Picos Production presenta el 5to Festival Colombiano 2012 en Houston el sábado 14 de Julio. Contará con la participación de Joe Quijano, una de las figuras musicales de mayor trascendencia de la música caribeña, siendo uno de los principales protagonistas del ritmo de la pachanga de Nueva York, también estarán en tarima el maestro Alci Acosta, la universidad de la cumbia Lisandro Meza y su hijo Juan José Meza, el Boricua Yan Collazo voz original de Guayacán Orquesta; y desde Puerto Rico, la India, más conocida como La Princesa de la Salsa, quien llega a celebrar la independencia de Colombia.
El "Festival Colombiano" está registrado en la ciudad de Houston, como propiedad de la Compañía "Picos Production" fundada desde el año 2.001 por su presidente, el señor Oscar Cortéz, un empresario Neoyorquino de sangre y raíces colombianas, a quien desde muy pequeño sus padres le inculcaron el amor por Colombia y a sentirla como propia. El festival se ha venido realizando desde el año 2.008, para que los colombianos residentes en Houston, separados geográficamente de su país y de sus raíces, se sientan por un día en su propio territorio.
El objetivo del festival es difundir la cultura Colombiana en EE.UU a través de muestras artesanales, gastronómicas, culturales y musicales.
